Research and Planning.

For my music magazine, I had a lot more research to do because I wanted this to be a lot better than my college magazine. I researched things like colour schemes, the way magazines pose the artists on the front cover and the way they layout the pages. For example, I researched different music magazines that related to the genre I wanted my product to be, which was pop. I think doing this helped me when making my splash, double page spread and contents page because I had an idea of how other products looked, so could use them for inspiration. I also researched music magazines that weren’t in the genre I was doing so that I knew what the conventions were. Researching colours using ‘Adobe Kuler’ was a great way to find colour schemes with colours that worked well together, as I could simply search ‘pop’ and relevant options came up which I was able to choose from. This ended up with the full product looking a lot more professional as I took multiple images for each section, had multiple outfits and also a range of models for the magazine.
