Digipaks in similar genre to my chosen song.

I really like how this album has conventions that follow through the whole product, including the colours that have been used and the font style. I think the colour pink has been used on this product to emphasise how the artist feels, and coincides with the title 'Glorious'. There has been a consistent use of the colours pink and white, with black and grey being used only on the front of the album which illustrates how Foxes is an artist whose focus is purely on the music and not on what the album looks like. This is reflected in the music she does, as she is quite calm and peaceful.

This product looks really fun and interesting, which I think is reflected in the artist's music. I think that the products aren't very consistent and don't relate to each other very well, except for the font that has been used. This then makes the product look unprofessional, although I think the products look really appealing and interesting by themselves. I think the idea for the back cover is a little too confusing for my product, and think I am going to use a much more simplified design as I want my product to reflect a particular emotion and feeling,

This album has a consistent colour scheme throughout the whole product and I think this really suits the artists. They have only used one image throughout the product and that is simply one image of the band on the front cover. I think the image might have worked better if they were looking at the camera because in this shot they look distracted by something, look slightly uninterested and don't seem to want to engage with whoever it is that has bought the album.

In this product, Lana Del Rey hasn't placed her name on the front of the album; only the CD, suggesting that because she is known worldwide and everyone knows who she is, she doesn't need it. This is something that would only work for major artists, so this wouldn't be a good idea for my product, as the artist is new and upcoming so isn't known very much. I also like how the images of the artist are in black and white and the CD is in colour because this makes it look interesting and would appeal to the audience she is targeting the product at because of the way she has presented it.

I really like the idea of the artist's face filling up the whole composition of the front cover, as this would allow the emotion that I am trying to portray be a lot more visible and easier to read for the person looking at it. I don't think that I would place the artist's name over the artist's face because this doesn't look very professional and I think it looks slightly unorganised. I think the most interesting part of this product is the way the tracklist is laid out, as this isn't a conventional back cover. I really like how this looks but think that a simple layout would work best for my product, but I will do a few testers of how different layouts look. The name of the album is placed on the back which is also unconventional because this is usually placed on the front along with the artist's name.

I think this is the most simple out of all the albums I have looked at, and think this works for this indie rock band because they are really well-known so don't need to have their name plastered all over their product. They have used an amplifier as the main image of their product, and have placed it so that it gives the illusion that the amplifier goes through the CD.

In the two images for this product, there is the point of view from both the car's perspective and the person who is seen to be running away. I think this is really interesting as it makes the audience question why this has been done, and has been used to allow people to interpret it in their own way. It is a very conventional album because it has the artist name, title of album, tracklist, images and a barcode. The same font type has been used throughout the product which makes the product flow, and this can be seen in how the letter 'A' has been replaced with a triangle.

There are only 2 main colours used in this product (black and pink), which gives it a really simple look and makes the product look appealing to Ellie Goulding's fans. I really like the image that has been used on the front cover but tried to replicate this for my ancillary texts but couldn't quite capture the hair flip in the same way.

This is the deluxe version of the album, and the difference in this product is that there are more colours used. This makes it look a lot more fun than the album named 'Halcyon' because it is brighter and more exciting. The album still has the same layout though, which shows how the artist understands how to make a product that looks both professional and appealing.
